Matt There must be 'imitation' markets to be found. Where are the best and/or cheapest of these?
admin At the airport you can back the VAT you paid on your purchases over 5000 THB. I dont think this is possible by train.

Many leading department stores like Central offer a 5% discount for tourists, you can get one of the coupons from one of the many free maps that are distributed at hotels.

Good luck
agchew what is airport tax? u get a discount of 7 percent? i'm going by train so can i get it elsewhere? oh.. i've heard that malls also hv their own card that give tourists discounts? plz help me out..
admin Hi,

In general these goods are not much cheaper then in other countries. This is due to the fact that they are tradable goods and you can easily ship them from one country to another.

There might be some slight price differences in case of a sale or other promotion and do not forget you can get 7% tax back at the airport.

Happy shopping
agchew are designer goods in bangkok cheaper? what bout gucci, chanel n louis vuitton? how much cheaper are they?
and what bout not-so-designer brands like esprit, topshop and mng?? i plan to go shopping in siam paragon n those good depatrment stores..
oh yeah.. i stay in malaysia, so are designer goods cheaper in kuala lumpur? i mean genuine designer goods
