The price of a rented apartment depends greatly on the location, at prime locations close to the skytrain or metro you will get a 35 sqm studio for 15.000 THB while you will get a 2 bedroom apartment if you are willing to live just outside the center. Commodities like electricity and water are not expensive although you should be careful with your air conditioning use in order to avoid a high bill. Water is insanely cheap and 200 THB a month should cover it.
For prices at the supermarket or any shopping mall the rule of thumb is: If it's imported it will be the same price as at home or even more expensive, if it's produced locally it will be cheap.
